| Artist's Statement: "I spent 6 months of the year 2000 travelling solo and shooting 35 mm slides in the West--primarily New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, and Oregon. The Motel 6 chain had just finished a system wide renovation of all of their motels in the West and I was drawn to their shiny white and brand new 39$/night edifices and stayed in a different one every night. I was experimenting with the effects of fluorescent lighting on slow speed slide film and trying to keep from going crazy travelling alone."
